Troubleshooting FTP Connectivity for Health Plans
The following are tips for health plans working on establishing connectivity to HFS for the purposes of receiving claims data (CCCD). These are common recommendations we make.
Software
Often, software issues prevent proper download of files sent by FTP. While HFS does not have official opinions on software, we advise partners to assess software issues when experiencing FTP connectivity problems.
IP
We do not block this IP, so in most circumstances the remote site's firewall rules (ACL) must be changed. Refer to process documents you received from HFS or contact us at the email addresses below for help.
VPN
A VPN is available for a monthly fee at the health plan's request. Setup can take 1-3 weeks. Contact us for further details.
If you need to contact HFS for tech support, please use these brief reminders.
Subject Line
When contacting us for FTP tech support, include FTP SUPPORT in the subject line of your email.
Error Log
Whenever you contact HFS for support, please include a screenshot of your FTP session log. This will help us identify the source of the errors you are getting.
