MMAI Award Announcement

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) has selected eight health plans to serve clients in the Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) and other initiatives in two regions of the state. The health plans were selected based on their demonstrated ability to offer a holistic approach to delivering coordinated care for clients eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid (dual eligibles). The initial awards are anticipated to extend for a maximum of three years. The MMAI is pending federal approval. Enrollment in the MMAI program is expected to start in the fall of 2013.

Illinois Names Eight Healthcare Plans to Care for Medicaid and Medicare Clients Project will provide coordinated care for �dual eligibles� Goal is to improve healthcare outcomes and control costs
