Substance Use Prevention and Recovery Services

The Division of Substance Use, Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) operates as the single state authority for substance abuse issues in Illinois.  SUPR coordinates the efforts of state programs dealing with problems created by alcoholism and substance use and is a primary funder of substance use services for children and adults at all levels of care throughout the state.  SUPR also is responsible for the licensing and certification of all persons engaged in substance use treatment and intervention, as defined in Section 301/15-5 of the Illinois Alcoholism and Other Drug Abuse and Dependency Act.
