Possible online services disruption due to Internet related outage

A worldwide technology outage is causing disruption to some State of Illinois online systems.  We are aware of this issue and are diligently working on restoration.

The Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) funds several Maternal and Child Health programs which include Family Case Management, High Risk Infant Follow-Up, and Better Birth Outcomes.  These Maternal and Child Health (MCH) programs are a cooperative effort between DHS and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). The goal of the MCH programs is to assure that pregnant women, new mothers and infants receive the necessary prenatal, postpartum and preventive health care. These programs are in compliance with the Medical Assistance Program authorized under Title XIX of the Social Security Act and the State Children's Health Insurance Program authorized under Title XXI of the Social Security Act, as administered by HFS.

DHS has contracts with the following types of organizations to provide family case management services:

  • Local Health Departments (LHDs)
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)
  • Not-for-profit organizations

 

Under federal Medicaid law, local units of government, such as LHDs, may submit claims for federal reimbursement of expenditures spent in their counties on behalf of persons enrolled in the Medical Programs that are in excess of any DHS grant funds.
