Rural Health Transformation Program Advisory Committee HOME
The Rural Health Transformation Advisory Committee provides structured, quarterly guidance to HFS on the implementation of the Rural Health Transformation Program. The Workgroup brings together legislative appointees, statewide associations, rural health systems, public health partners, and academic institutions - offering broad expertise from across Illinois’ rural health landscape.
Created in state statute, the Workgroup is designed to reflect the diversity of rural communities throughout Illinois. Its membership includes representatives from hospitals, critical access hospitals, community health centers, mental and behavioral health providers, public health associations, rural health organizations, state universities, and other statewide rural interests. Legislative leaders also appoint members to ensure balanced representation.
Meetings are subject to the Open Meetings Act and focus on program updates, funding progress, and strategic direction. Beginning in April 2026, the Workgroup will help ensure that community feedback and performance insights guide effective, transparent, and accountable program implementation. Members serve through the life of the Rural Health Transformation Program, with quarterly meetings scheduled through 2032.
