Find a Family Planning Clinic
If you are receiving Medicaid and are not able to receive birth control education and services from your current primary care provider or your managed care program does not provide you the service(s) you want, please know that you have a free choice of providers when it comes to birth control/family planning services and supplies. These birth control/family planning services are covered by your plan even if you go outside of your network; you do not need a referral. Services may include free male and female condoms, trained providers who can insert a long acting reversible contraceptive (LARC), and screening for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
To find a health center that provides family planning and birth control, please use the on-line clinical locator at Bedsider.org. You will enter your zip code to locate nearby health centers. Please call ahead to confirm hours, services, insurance coverage, and appointments. Bedsider.org is an independent free service as part of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy and Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services is not responsible for the accuracy or content on this site. Or you may call Bedsider’s toll free number for more information about birth control options at 1-888-321-0383.
