Erroneous Rejection of Originating Site Facility Fee (Q3014)

Problem:

Telehealth Originating Site Facility Fee (Procedure Code Q3014) is billable by community mental health providers when a distant site physician service is rendered via telehealth to a Medicaid eligible participant per the 01/12/10 provider notice Expansion of Telehealth Services. Claims for Q3014 from community mental health providers for DMH clients who are also eligible for Medicaid erroneously rejected with error codes G85, G89, and G91.

Resolution for Impacted Claims:

Claims for procedure code Q3014 with dates of service within timely filing limits may be re-billed. The Department will allow a timely filing override for claims that were affected by this problem and are past the timely filing limit.
