Notice of Public Hearing Regarding Proposed Changes in Methods and Standards for Establishing Medical Assistance Payment Rates for Hospital Supplemental Payments
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services will hold a public hearing regarding proposed changes in methods and standards for setting certain payment rates for hospital supplemental payments. The proposed changes are being made pursuant to implement the FY10 budget and changes required by Public Act 096-0821. These proposed changes include; (1) the creation of certain new, one time supplemental hospital payments, and (2) other modifications supplemental payments contained in 89 Ill. Admin. Code 148.
The hearing will be held on December 7, 2009, at 1:00 p.m., in the first floor conference room of the Prescott E. Bloom Building located at 201 South Grand Avenue East, Springfield, Illinois. At that hearing, the department will present the proposed changes and allow interested parties an opportunity to provide written or oral comments.
The proposed change(s) in reimbursement to hospital providers is estimated to have a positive fiscal impact on hospital providers, with an estimated increase during State fiscal year 2010 of $141 million.

Interested persons may review these proposed changes on or after December 1, 2009, on the Internet HFS Public Notice. Local access to the Internet is available through any local public library. In addition, this material may be viewed at the DHS local offices (except in Cook County). In Cook County, the changes may be reviewed at the Office of the Director, Healthcare and Family Services, 100 West Randolph Street, Chicago, Illinois. The changes may be reviewed at all offices Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. This notice is being provided in accordance with federal requirements found at 42 CFR 447.205.
