Proposed Changes In Methods And Standards For Establishing Medical Assistance Payment Rates for County Owned or Operated Long Term Care Providers

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is providing notice of a change regarding reimbursement for emergency home response services.

Effective for dates of service on or after October 15, 2006, the Department of Human Services began reimbursing providers of emergency home response services, as provided through its home- and community-based waivers under Section 1915(c) of the Social Security Act, at $30 per installation of an emergency home response system, and at $28 per month for the provision of such services. These changes will result in a reduction in Medicaid spending of approximately $400,000 per year and are being implemented in order to be consistent with the reimbursement rates provided by other State agencies.
