Public Hearing on June 8, 2012, Regarding Proposed Changes in Methods and Standards for Setting Certain Medical Assistance Payment Rates for Inpatient and Outpatient Hospital Services Identified in Senate Bill 2194
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) will hold a public hearing regarding proposed changes in methods and standards for setting certain payment rates for inpatient and outpatient hospital services under the Illinois Medical Assistance program. The proposed changes may be reviewed in Senate Bill 2194, specifically Pages 168 through 177, which is accessible on the Illinois General Assembly’s Web site:
The effective date in the legislation is July 1, 2012, but HFS anticipates a future amendment, which will change the effective date to June 10, 2012. The annual spending for these changes is estimated to be $166.3 million for inpatient services, and $313.7 million for outpatient services.
A hearing will be held on June 8, 2012, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., in the First Floor Conference Room of the Prescott E. Bloom Building, located at 201 South Grand Avenue East, Springfield, Illinois. At that hearing, the department will present the proposed changes and allow interested parties an opportunity to provide written or oral comments.
