Quadrennial Review of Illinois Guidelines for Support

During this meeting of the Child Support Advisory Committee, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services is scheduling a public comment period to receive ideas and concerns on the topic of child support guidelines for support. The public comment period will be for the sole purpose of gathering public comments for consideration of the Illinois Child Support Advisory Committee during the Quadrennial Review of Illinois’ guidelines for support. If any person requires special accommodations, please notify the department at HFS.SupprtGuidelines@illinois.gov at least five business days in advance of the meeting, if possible. 

The public comment period will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on December 8, at the location provided above. Persons interested in presenting testimony during the public comment period are advised that the Department of Healthcare and Family Services will adhere to the following procedures in the conduct of the public comment period:

  •  No oral testimony shall exceed an aggregate of 5 minutes.
  •  It is preferable for each person presenting oral testimony to provide to the Committee Chair a written, legible (preferably typed) copy of such testimony at the time the oral testimony is presented.
  •  No person will be recognized to speak for a second time until all persons wishing to testify have done so, and only if there is time remaining.
  •  In order to provide for a balanced presentation of views and to facilitate the orderly conduct of the public comment portion of the meeting, the Chair may impose such other rules or procedures, including the order of call of witnesses, as the Chair deems necessary.
  •  Persons who do not wish to speak during the public comment period, but who desire to provide comments, may submit comments the Committee by regular mail, e-mail, or fax.  Comments must be received at least one day prior to the meeting date in order to be considered by the Committee.
