Re: COVID-19 Uninsured Portal – Verifying Recipient Identification Number Generated for Service Date

This notice advises providers regarding an issue with recipient identification numbers (RINs) returned through the COVID Uninsured Portal for dates of service through May 11, 2023, that do not contain eligibility for the service date supplied.

A system issue had allowed the COVID Uninsured Portal to release to providers a small number of existing RINS that do not have coverage for the customer service date identified.

These situations are being reviewed and corrected. Providers are asked to verify via MEDI all RINs supplied by the COVID-19 Uninsured Portal to ensure that the RIN contains eligibility for the service date. If it does not, providers are asked to contact the Department at the number below to have the coverage corrected.

Questions regarding this notice may be directed to the Bureau of Professional and Ancillary Services at 877-782-5565.
