Public Act 097-0689(pdf), referred to as the Save Medicaid Access and Resources Together (SMART) Act, mandated that effective July 1, 2012, chiropractic services be limited to participants under the age of 21.

This bulletin provides updates to the Covered and Non-Covered Services topics in the Handbook for Providers of Chiropractic Services. It also provides clarification on the department's primary diagnosis requirement.

The Handbook for Providers of Chiropractic Services, Chapter B-200 is available on the department's website.
