Over-The-Counter Drug Co-payment Clarification

To: Participating Pharmacies
Date: June 30, 2012
Re: Over-The-Counter Drug Co-payment Clarification

An Informational Notice issued by the department on June 14, 2012, regarding participant copayments effective July 1, 2012, listed the copayment for over-the-counter drugs as $3.65. The purpose of this notice is to inform pharmacies of a change to the over-the-counter drug copayment. Effective July 1, 2012, the over-the-counter drug copayment will be $2.00

Reimbursement and co-payments under the non-Medicaid programs are not affected by this change.

Patients who are currently exempt from co-payments, such as pregnant women, children, residents of long term care facilities, supportive living facilities, and community integrated living arrangements (CILAs), will continue to be exempt from co-payments.
