In-Person Listening Sessions Regarding Illinois Medicaid Managed Care |
Medicaid providers, advocates, and other stakeholders: the Department of Healthcare and Family Services is seeking input from you and our customers about your experiences with Illinois Medicaid Managed Care.
HFS is holding in-person listening sessions in Chicago and Springfield this September and we want to hear from you about your experiences with HealthChoice Illinois.
The first session will be held in Chicago from 1 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 12th at the UIC College of Pharmacy, 833 S. Wood St., Room B32. If you plan to attend this session, please register in advance here.
The Springfield in-person listening session will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17th at the Illinois Department of Agriculture John Block Building Auditorium on the Illinois State Fairgrounds – Gate 11, 801 E. Sangamon Ave. If you plan to attend this session, please register in advance here.
These listening sessions are an opportunity to talk about your experience with HealthChoice Illinois managed care. HFS wants to know: what works well for you? Where should we make improvements? As HFS prepares to procure new HealthChoice Illinois managed care contracts, hearing customer and stakeholder input about experiences with Medicaid managed care will enable HFS to better serve enrollees by improving access and quality within the Illinois Medicaid program.
Please note that HFS cannot accept personal health information or comments about specific healthcare providers. We also cannot accept comments from any party affiliated with an entity that may bid on a future managed care procurement. This does not include providers or provider associations that are not party to an entity bidding on a managed care contract.
If you need an additional opportunity to provide feedback, HFS will also be taking comments at the Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) and Subcommittee meetings on September 24th, October 4th, and November 4th. You can visit our website to register to virtually attend a meeting or to submit your comments in writing using our web portal.
All customer and stakeholder input will be considered through November 15, 2024. After that, the HCI managed care program will be in an active procurement period governed by the Procurement Code. For more information about the procurement process for managed care at HFS, visit our Procurement webpage.
The next Managed Care Organization contract process will proceed under the Illinois Procurement Code, and will follow the Procurement Code’s rules, including making sure that these listening sessions comply with the Open Meetings Act. The procurement is expected to occur in 2025, for a delivery of service beginning in Plan Year 2027.
For additional information, please visit the HFS website. Your feedback is important to us. Thank you for taking the time to share.
