COVID-19 Vaccine – Void/Rebill for Administration Fee for Dates of Service Beginning January 1, 2024 |
This notice provides updates to pharmacies billing for the COVID-19 vaccine administration fee. This update applies only to the Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) program for dates of service beginning January 1, 2024.
The provider notice dated April 4, 2024, informed pharmacies that programming for the COVID-19 vaccine administration fee for dates of service September 11, 2023, through December 31, 2023, had been completed. HFS has now completed programming for pharmacies to receive the COVID-19 vaccine administration fee for dates of service beginning January 1, 2024.
Pharmacies may void and rebill claims that were initially submitted without the administration fee for dates of service beginning January 1, 2024. Pharmacies must use “MA” in the Professional Service Code Field, in addition to identifying the administration fee.
