Re: Publicly Owned Transportation Providers – Ground Emergency Medical Transportation (GEMT) Supplemental Payments
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
This notice informs providers enrolled in the Ground Emergency Medical Transportation (GEMT) program of erroneous Department payments made on claims for which Medicare is the primary payer.
Providers should not have received GEMT supplemental payments on Medicare-primary claims. The Department will process adjustments on these claims to recoup the affected payments. GEMT providers should not submit refund checks at this time for overpayments related to Medicare primary claims.
When providers need to submit checks for other reasons, providers should not combine IGT payments and overpayment refunds into one check. Checks should be separate and sent to the specific Department area below with detail information included.
