Re: Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program Attestation Extension
This notice informs certain providers that attestation of the Illinois Medicaid Electronic Health Records (EHR) Incentive Program for the 2017 program year is extended to April 30, 2018.
The April 30, 2018 extension applies only to eligible professionals (EPs) who have not yet attested to the Illinois Medicaid EHR Incentive Program for the 2017 program year.
CMS recently extended the Medicare attestation deadline two weeks, which could potentially cut into the Medicaid attestation timeframe for practices attesting to both programs. In addition, system downtime in early January due to the system migration to a cloud environment reduced the attestation application’s availability. As a result of these issues, some providers may need additional time to attest. Therefore, the Department is extending the attestation period to April 30, 2018.
