| Re: | New Provider Enrollment System for the Illinois Medical Assistance Program Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT) |
The purpose of this informational notice is to inform providers that Illinois is launching a new provider enrollment process and computer system. This will be the first phase in replacing the current Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS).
To comply with the Federal Regulations at 42 CFR 455 Subpart E – Provider Screening and Enrollment, Illinois is developing and implementing a new electronic provider enrollment system. The State of Illinois will be replacing the current Medicaid provider enrollment system with a new web-based system known as Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT), which is anticipated to launch in July, 2015. IMPACT will be used by all Medicaid and Waiver Program providers doing business with Illinois.
The new system will provide a more convenient, streamlined, user-friendly experience. IMPACT will create a web portal for providers to submit and update their information as needed. With the implementation of IMPACT, the wait time for an application approval could decrease significantly, and the need for paper documentation will be drastically reduced.
All organizations and individuals seeking to become Illinois Medical Assistance providers, including those working under Waiver Programs administered by agencies other than the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, will be required to enroll using IMPACT. Agency-specific enrollment requirements will remain the same.
Likewise, providers that are currently enrolled in the Illinois Medical Assistance Program will need to enter IMPACT and review and update their information. This process is termed revalidation and will occur in phases. More information regarding the specifics of the revalidation process will be forthcoming. It is anticipated that the revalidation process for currently-enrolled providers will occur over a six month period beginning in August, 2015.
Additional information is available at the IMPACT website regarding timelines and specific provider requirements.
We appreciate your assistance and cooperation as we begin this new chapter of the Illinois Medical Assistance Program.
