| Re: | Disproportionate Share (DSH) Adjustment Payments and Medicaid Percentage Adjustment (MPA) Payments for Managed Care Organization (MCO) and Managed Care Community Network (MCCN) Enrollee Claims |
The department has revised the process by which eligible hospitals will be reimbursed Medicaid percentage adjustment (MPA) payments for Managed Care Organization (MCO) and Managed Care Community Network (MCCN) enrollee claims.
Effective with dates of service on and after October 1, 2014, the department will no longer make MPA adjustments directly to eligible hospitals for MCO and MCCN enrollee claims. These payments will be made by the MCOs/MCCNs to the eligible hospitals for those days. MCOs and MCCNs will continue to be responsible for the payment of the Medicaid high volume adjustment (MHVA) payments. The MPA payments will be made in the same way beginning with dates of service October 1, 2014.
It should be noted that the DSH payments will continue to be made by the department to the hospitals and will not be included in any payments that the MCOs and MCCNs make to the eligible hospitals.
