Update: Medicare Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) transition to Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP)

This notice provides updates and clarification regarding the transition of the Illinois Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) program to fully integrated dual eligible special needs plans (FIDE SNP). 

Provider Contracting

The provider notice issued on October 2, 2025, indicated that providers must have a contract with each FIDE SNP. To clarify, only providers who want to be in-network with a FIDE SNP and reimbursed for delivering services to FIDE SNP members must have a contract with the FIDE SNP.  

Please note that most FIDE SNPs deemed their MMAI and/or HealthChoice Illinois (HCI) provider agreements for the FIDE SNP program. This means that providers already in-network with a health plan under their affiliated MMAI and/or HCI programs may not need to take action to be in-network with the FIDE SNP. It is strongly recommended that providers confirm their FIDE SNP network status with each health plan, as appropriate. During this transition period, please contact the affiliated MMAI plans for questions related to FIDE SNP provider contracting. 

Recipient FIDE SNP Enrollment Verification

FIDE SNPs will be displayed in the Recipient Eligibility Verification System (REVS) accessed via the MEDI portal and the Internet Electronic Claims (IEC) web application as follows:

• Site Name, Organization Name, and Plan Codes

• Please note the site names and organization names are the same.
