Updated Semi Annual Rate Maintenance Review Calculation for January 1, 2025, through June 30, 2025

The Department is posting an updated Semi-Annual Rate Maintenance calculation for the period of January through June 2025 using the updated funding and rates approved in September. The calculations result in increased payment to Safety Net hospitals, which the Department will be issuing to the MCO’s in the near future. The calculations also result in lower payment to the Public hospitals. The Department will be recouping those overpayments from the December MCAP payment. A Semi-Annual Rate Maintenance Reconciliation document is also being posted that displays the additional payment amounts and the amounts to be recouped in the December MCAP by MCO, so that hospitals can reconcile the December payments.
In addition, the Department is posting an Updated Assessment Adjustment Calculation that is applicable to the July – December 2025 hospital taxes. This amount has already been included in the tax due amounts for July – December. For clarification, the tax adjustment that was previously calculated was paid in the July through September tax payments. The monthly incremental tax due for the July through September retroactive payments were calculated by subtracting the total monthly tax amount paid in July through September under the old assessment, including the base tax and the original adjustment, from the total due under the updated assessment, including the base tax and the updated adjustment.
