This notice confirms the Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ (HFS) coverage for karyotype or related hormone testing to diagnose Klinefelter syndrome. This coverage is required by Public Act 104-0073.
Effective on or after January 1, 2027, the Act requires HFS to provide coverage for karyotype or related hormone testing to diagnose Klinefelter syndrome. HFS already provides this coverage under the fee-for-service (FFS) program and managed care organizations (MCOs), therefore, no coverage changes are necessary.
