 Confirmation of Hormonal Therapy for Menopause per Public Act 103-0703

This notice confirms the Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ (HFS) coverage for hormonal therapy to treat menopause that has been induced by a hysterectomy. This coverage is required under Public Act 103-0703 and applies to the Medicaid fee-for-service program and the managed care organizations (MCOs).

Compliance with the Act is required by January 1, 2026; however, HFS already covers hormonal therapy in this circumstance, and no additional coverage changes are needed.
