 Confirmation of Coverage for Colonoscopies per Public Act 103-0800

This notice confirms the Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ (HFS) coverage of colonoscopies. This coverage is required under Public Act 103-0080.

The Act requires HFS to provide coverage for medically necessary colonoscopies. As HFS already provides this coverage under the fee-for-service (FFS) program and managed care organizations (MCOs), no coverage changes are necessary.
