 Ground Ambulance Rate Increases Effective January 1, 2024, per Public Act 103-0102

This notice informs transportation providers that in accordance with 

Public Act 103-0102, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) has increased reimbursement for both base rates and mileage for ground ambulance services for dates of service beginning January 1, 2024, through June 30, 2026.

HFS has completed the programming for these ground ambulance rate increases after receiving federal State Plan Amendment approval. The Private Ambulance Fee Schedule has been updated. Ambulance providers may now void and rebill claims that were initially submitted and paid at the old rates for dates of service beginning January 1, 2024.

HFS has also received federal approval for air ambulance base rate increases and new mileage reimbursement; however, programming is not yet completed. HFS will notify providers when programming is completed and the fee schedule is updated with these changes.
