To: Long Term Care - Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (Only)

​Re: Add–On Payment Increases for Single Room and Double Room Occupancy Effective January 1, 2024

This notice informs Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities providers that effective January 1, 2024, in accordance with Public Act 103-0102 the following room add-on payment increases will take effect.

Single Room Occupancy

A payment of no less than $10.50 per day, shall be added to the existing $15 additional per day, for a total of at least $25.50 per day, per Medicaid-occupied bed, per single room occupancy.

Double Room Occupancy

A payment of no less than $4.50 per day, shall be added to the existing $10 additional per day, for a total of at least $14.50, per Medicaid-occupied bed, in each double occupancy room.

The single room occupancy has been programmed and is currently being reimbursed.

The double occupancy room add–on payment effective July 1, 2022, along with the January 1, 2024, increase to that rate are currently being programmed. Upon completion of the programming, fee for service claims will be adjusted systematically back to the effective date.

The above information has been shared with the managed care organization plans for incorporation into their claims processing systems.
