Provider Notice issued 01/17/2024

To: Long Term Care (LTC) Facilities - Supportive Living Program (SLP) Providers
Date: January 17, 2024
Re: Supportive Living Program (SLP) Rate Increases Effective January 1, 2024

This notice informs Supportive Living Program (SLP) Providers that in accordance with Public Act 103-0102 effective January 1, 2024, the following rate increases will take effect:

-The dementia care rate for supportive living services must be no less than the non-dementia care supportive living services rate multiplied by 1.5.

-Pursuant to federal approval of an increase to the nursing facility support component rate, the regional SLP per diem rates will increase accordingly. The Department estimates this increase to be around 3% to the total SLP rate.

The Department anticipates these rates will be programmed in the State’s payment system the week of January 15, 2024.

Public Act 103-0102 also includes a provision for an increase related to quality performance measures. The per diem increase will ultimately be allocated according to performance metrics that the Department is currently developing. Until the metrics are established, the add-on will be paid out equally to all SLP days of service.
