​Re: Continuation of Telehealth Flexibilities at COVID-19 Public Health Emergency End

This notice confirms the Department of Healthcare and Family Services’ (HFS) continuation of telehealth flexibilities beyond the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE). This applies to claims for persons covered under both Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) and the managed care organizations (MCOs).

The COVID-19 PHE is set to end on May 11, 2023. HFS will to continue the telehealth flexibilities authorized under 89 Ill. Admin. Code section 140.403(e) which will allow HFS time to evaluate the services provided via telehealth during the pandemic and make informed decisions regarding future utilization. Providers will be notified in advance of any future changes to current telehealth flexibilities via informational notice.
