Re:      Safety Training Certification Providers

 

 

All providers of non-emergency medicar and service cartransportation are required uPageContent

nder Public Act 95-501 and Administrative Code  89 Ill. Adm. Code 140.490(f) to certify that all drivers andemployee attendants have completed safety training certification every threeyears. Medicar and service car providers receiving federal funding under 49U.S.C. 5307 or 5311 are not subject to the safety training programcertification requirement during the period of federal funding. Documentationof the federal funding period must be made available to the Illinois Departmentof Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) upon request.

 

The current list of State of Illinois Medicaid approved safety training providers is on the HFS website and is shown below:

 

Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA)  

CTAA provides classroom training at the provider’s facilities for a fee. Specific details areagreed upon between the trainer and provider.

Illinois Rural Transit Assistance Center at WesternIllinois University

Classroom sessions are offered throughout Illinois. RuralTransit Assistance Center trainers will come directly to the provider’sfacilities for a fee. Specific details are agreed upon between the trainer andprovider.
