Re:      2020Long Term Care (LTC) Cost Report Due Date/Cut-Off Date

 

 

This notice informs Long Term Care (LTC)providers that the 2020 LTC cost reports that are filed by May 31, 2021 willstill meet the qualifications of 89 Illinois Administrative Code Section140.560 and beconsidered filed timely for rate setting purposes if the 2020 cost reports areused to set provider reimbursement rates. This change in the due date/cut-offdate for the 2020 LTC cost reports is a result of potential delays caused bythe ongoing public health emergency that is affecting healthcare organizationsthroughout the State of Illinois.

 

Federal CMS has allowed two extra monthsfor the filing of the Medicare cost reports. Therefore, Healthcare and FamilyServices (HFS) is allowing two extra months for the filing of the IllinoisMedicaid LTC cost report as well. This will be in addition to any approved extensionsthat are granted.

 

For December 31, 2020 year ends,extension requests still need to be submitted by March 31, 2021 to be approved,if providers need an extra month in addition to the two months allowed byFederal CMS.

 

The two extra months will make the December31, 2020 cost reports due May 31, 2021. With an approved extension request, thedue date would be June 30, 2021.

 

The 2020 LTC cost report files areavailable to download from HFS Cost Reports webpage. Downloadable Excel costreports are available on the HFS Long Term Care – Long Form (Nsg Homes,Skilled Nsg Units and ICF/DD) webpage.

 

Upon completion of the 2020 LTC costreport file, send by email or CD to HFS.HealthFinance@illinois.gov. A signed paper copy must be sent inalso to:
