Re:      Update Regarding Fabrication of Participant Eyeglasses

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The purpose of this notice is to inform enrolled providers regarding interimchanges to the fabrication of eyeglasses forparticipants covered under the Department’s fee-for-service program. Thisinformation does not apply to orders for participants covered under HealthChoice Illinois managed care plans or the Medicare/Medicaid AlignmentInitiative (MMAI) plans.

 

 

 

 

Due to COVID-19 mitigation strategies at DixonCorrectional Facility, the production of participant eyeglasses has been severelyimpacted during the public health emergency as reported in the September 25, 2020 provider notice. As of February 2021, Classic Optical haspartnered with the Department and begun manufacturing eyeglasses for eligible fee-for-serviceMedicaid participants to address outstanding orders and reduce the currentbacklog resulting from administrative lockdowns at Dixon. 

 

 

 

For questions regarding order status pleasecontact Classic Optical at 888-522-2020. Classic Optical will respond to IllinoisMedicaid providers regarding their inquiries and they request patience as theywork to remedy the backlog of participant orders.  

 

 

 

The process of ordering eyeglasses for Medicaid participantsremains unchanged.
