- For those hospitals that were underpaid GME in July and August, the September payment will include the additional amount needed to catch them up
- For hospitals that were overpaid GME in July and August, the Department will offset the September GME payment to account for the overpayment made in July and August. In the event that the September GME amount is less than the amount of the overpayment, additional offsets will be made against the Fee-For-Service assessment payments.

Re: Graduate Medical Education Payments
This notice pertains only to those hospitals eligible for Graduate Medical Education (GME) payments
There was a payment issue regarding the GME payments made for the months of July and August. The Department is correcting the payment issue via the September monthly GME and Fee-For-Service assessment payments in the following manner:
Any hospitals eligible for GME are encouraged to contact the Department for a walk-through of their September payments by emailing hfs.Hospitals@illinois.gov
