Provider Notice Issued 08/07/2020

Date:    August 7, 2020

To:       Participating Hospitals:  Chief Executive Officers; Chief Financial Officers; and Patient Accounts Managers

Re:      July 2020 Managed Care Organization Hospital Access Program Payment (MCO-HAP) Issue

In accordance with Public Act 101-0650, the Department has recently issued the July 2020 MCO-HAP payments to the managed care plans. A monthly payment report listing the amount each hospital will receive from the plans has been posted to the Department’s Hospital Reimbursement Notifications Website under the section titled “Directed Payment and Passthrough Reports.”

The Department is aware of an issue with the July payment amounts from one of the managed care plans not matching the amounts listed on the website. In the event that your facility was underpaid, the MCO will be issuing payment in the amount of the underpayment as soon as possible. If your facility received more than the amount listed on the website, the MCO will reconcile against the August

MCO-HAP payment once those payments are issued by the Department. In those cases, the July and August payments combined will equal the value of two months payment.

The Department will be posting the calculations for the directed payments to the website next week. A provider notice will be issued at that time to notify hospitals that the calculations are available.

Questions regarding this notice may be directed to HFS.Hospitals@Illinois.gov.
