Re: Promoting Interoperability Program Attestation Extension
This notice informs certain providers that attestation of the Illinois Medicaid Promoting Interoperability Program (formerly the Illinois Medicaid Electronic Health Record [EHR] Incentive Program) for the 2019 program year is extended to May 31, 2020.
The May 31, 2020 extension applies only to eligible professionals (EPs) who have not yet attested to the Promoting Interoperability Program for the 2019 program year.
CMS recently extended several reporting deadlines one month, including the MIPS EP deadline. Delays to these reporting deadlines could potentially cut into the Medicaid attestation timeframe for practices attesting to multiple programs. In addition, providers may have their focus elsewhere as they manage the COVID-19 virus outbreak. As a result of these issues, some providers may need additional time to attest. Therefore, the Department is extending the EP attestation period to May 31, 2020.
