Re:      Advance Payment Recoupments – 3 Month Extension to April 15, 2020

______________________________________________________________________

In May 2019, Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) established a process for Long Term Care (LTC) providers to request an “Advance Payment” if they were experiencing a financial hardship due to Medicaid eligibility determination issues. The process included a repayment agreement that directed the provider to submit 12 monthly installment payments on the 15th of each month, beginning in January 2020.

HFS is extending the start date for providers to begin submitting repayments to the State.  The first payment to the State will now be due on April 15, 2020.  Providers will still be required to repay the Advance in twelve monthly installments, ending on March 15, 2021.

HFS will provide an amendment to the original agreement that specifies the new repayment timelines.  The amendment will be available on the LTC Exchange.  Providers will need to sign and upload the amendment to their Advance Payment folder on the LTC Exchange.  HFS will then sign and load the final amendment.  Instructions will be added to the LTC Exchange site to assist in implementing this change.
