This notice informs providers that effective with dates of service on and after July 1, 2018, adults will receive diagnostic and preventative services as a covered dental benefit.

 

Pursuant to Public Act 100-0587 the Department intends to enhance dental coverage for adults to include preventive dental care, including procedures and services for the prevention and treatment of periodontal disease and dental caries disease.

 

Effective with dates of service on and after July 1, 2018, dental services for individuals 21 years and older will include oral examination and prophylaxis once per year.

 

A revised dental fee schedule can be found on the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services website

 

These changes apply to fee-for-service reimbursement. Providers should contact the individual HealthChoice Illinois Managed Care plans for reimbursement and billing information regarding enrollees.
