Re: Transition of Cigna-HealthSpring Integrated Care Program (ICP) Enrollees
This Notice informs providers that Cigna-HealthSpring will no longer be part of the Medicaid Managed Care Integrated Care Program (ICP) after July 31, 2017. Only the Cigna-HealthSpring ICP plan is ending on July 31, 2017. Cigna-HealthSpring will continue to be part of the Medicare-Medicaid Alignment Initiative (MMAI) program through the end of calendar year 2017.
Currently, the Cigna-HealthSpring ICP health plan is an option in the Greater Chicago Region (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, and Will Counties). The Department will dis-enroll each Cigna-HealthSpring ICP member as of July 31, 2017 and transition them to a new ICP managed care health plan effective August 1, 2017.
Cigna-HealthSpring will mail each ICP member a plan closure notice (pdf), which will include the name of the new ICP managed care health plan the client will be transitioned to effective August 1, 2017. Each ICP health plan will issue their new members a welcome packet in advance of August 1, 2017. This packet will include a member handbook and a member ID card. Each individual should use their new ICP health plan’s Member ID Card for health care services and prescription drug coverage starting August 1, 2017.
Under this process, each individual who has been transitioned will be allowed to change ICP health plans within 90 days from August 1, 2017. To learn more about their ICP health plan options, individuals can call Illinois Client Enrollment Services at
877-912-8880 (TTY 866-565-8576) or visit www.EnrollHFS.illinois.gov.
Providers should check MEDI for each Cigna-HealthSpring ICP enrollee’s new ICP health plan. Providers should submit prior authorization requests to the new ICP health plan for health care services and prescription drug coverage provided after July 31, 2017. The new ICP health plans will honor current open prior authorizations for covered services for 90 days.
Cigna-HealthSpring is committed to assisting its members during this transition period to help minimize disruptions in care or access to services. ICP enrollees with questions about their Cigna-HealthSpring coverage through July 31, 2017 should call Cigna-HealthSpring Customer Service at 866-487-4331 (TTY users call 7-1-1), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For questions about Medicaid coverage, enrollees can call the Illinois Health Benefits Hotline at 800-226-0768 (TTY users call 877-204-1012) Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
