Billing Procedure Code A0430 for Fixed Wing Transportation Services

Re:​ Billing Procedure Code A0430 for Fixed Wing Transportation Services ​

 

By Informational Notice dated October 27, 2014, transportation providers were notified that effective with dates of service beginning November 1, 2014, fixed wing transportation services would no longer be processed manually. These claims must be billed via the paper HFS 2209 Transportation Invoice; electronically through the MEDI system; or electronically via an 837P transaction through a vendor.

 

 

If providers have not done so, those who are enrolled must notify Provider Enrollment Services (PES) in order to have procedure code A0430 – Air Ambulance, Conventional Air Services, Transport, One way (Fixed Wing) – added to their provider file. Claims will reject unless this code is identified in the provider file.

Transportation providers may request back-dating to November 1, 2014 of procedure code A0430. However, providers must contact PES at 1-877-782-5565 within 60 days of the date of this notice in order to make the update.
