Remote Automated Pharmacy System Enrollment

Re:​ Remote Automated Pharmacy System Enrollment​

This notice provides enrollment information of a Remote Automated Pharmacy Systems (RAPS), as defined in 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1330.510(b)(3), as an Illinois Medicaid pharmacy provider.

The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) requires the pharmacy’s Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number on the provider enrollment application. However, the DEA will not license this remote automated device, as it does not meet their requirements. In order to allow enrollment of the remote pharmacy, HFS will allow submission of the home pharmacy DEA number on the HFS provider enrollment application. All other enrollment information, such as state license number and National Provider Identification (NPI), must be specific to the remote pharmacy.
