The department has currently updated the Pharmacy Provider Handbook, with information regarding refills. The purpose of this update is to emphasize that the pharmacy must verify a request has been received from the physician, participant, or participant’s representative in order to refill a prescription. Any services provided to a recipient who is deceased may be recouped. The updated handbook page follows.

Instructions for updating the Handbook for Providers of Pharmacy Services:

P-208.4 Refills - Remove pages HFS P-208 (3 and 4) and insert new page HFS P-208 (3 and 4).
