The department is reissuing the Handbook for Providers of Hospital Services, Chapter H-200, Policy and Procedures for Hospital Services. This version encompasses previously released Informational Notice material, including information related to Public Act 097-0689 (SMART Act) and hospital inpatient and outpatient rate reform. Providers are encouraged to review the handbook in its entirety. This handbook, in conjunction with the Handbook for Providers of Medical Services, Chapter 100, General Policy and Procedures, provides information necessary for providers to receive payment from the department for hospital services.
