Chapter A-200, Handbook for Practitioners Rendering Medical Services Update​

This bulletin identifies the following updates to topics in the Handbook for Practitioners Rendering Medical Services.

  • Language removed allowing hospitals to bill fee-for-service for professional services to IDOC/IDJJ inmates. This change was effective May 16. 2011.

  • Information has been added to clarify the policy regarding dispensing over-the-counter emergency contraception in the office setting or family planning service clinics.

  • Information regarding the changes in covered services under the Illinois Healthy Women Program.

  • Information regarding Preconception Risk Assessment.

The Handbook for Practitioners Rendering Medical Services, Chapter A-200 is available on the department’s Web site.
