The Handbook for Providers of Pharmacy Services, Chapter P-200, Policy and Procedures for Pharmacy Services has been updated and is being re-issued by the department. Providers are encouraged to review the handbook in its entirety. The policy updates include the following:

 

P-202.5 – Prescriber Information – Language has been revised to state that the prescriber NPI is required on claims.

P-204.6 – Durable Medical Equipment (DME) – Ostomy supplies have been removed from the items that must be billed through the Pharmacy Program.

P-204.7 – Emergency Contraceptive – The age limits for Plan B prescriptions have been revised.

P-208.2 – Verbal Prescriptions – Language added regarding Plan B.

 

Appendix 4 – Internet Quick Reference Guide – This is a new appendix.

The Handbook for Providers of Pharmacy Services, Chapter P-200 is available on the department’s Web site.
