This notice is to ask for your participation in a survey, being conducted by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and the Office of Health Information Technology, regarding electronic health records (EHRs) in Illinois. This survey will help ensure that Illinois healthcare providers will benefit from federal payment incentives for the meaningful use of EHRs and identify interest in EHRs by providers not currently eligible for the federal incentives. The information gained from this survey will also inform efforts to provide the technical assistance and other resources providers need to successfully adopt EHRs.

The survey will be available beginning Monday, September 27, 2010, through the close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Friday, October 29, 2010.  Your participation will be greatly appreciated.

For further information about EHR provider payment incentives, or to submit any questions you may have, please visit the EHR Incentives Web site. This site includes direct links to EHR incentive payments information and fact sheets on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Web site. HFS is working closely with the Office of Health Information Technology to insure that we will be able to pay out the incentives to providers eligible for Medicaid sometime in 2011.
