Re: School-Based Health Services Program Administrator Request For Proposals

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is pleased to announce the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a statewide vendor to assist in the administration of claiming Medicaid costs incurred by units of local government, including Local Education Authorities (LEAs) participating in the School-Based Health Services (SBHS) Program.  The department is seeking such a vendor to reduce the administrative burden these entities bear in completing claims, as well as assuring consistency in reporting.

Effective April 1, 2009, LEAs wishing to participate in the SBHS program will be required to participate in the state-wide random moment time study process and be signatory to an amended interagency agreement with the department.  The department anticipates that as a result of the new process, LEAs’ overall costs for submitting claims will be significantly reduced.

All interested third party billing agents and other qualified entities are encouraged to review the RFP and submit a proposal to the department in accordance with the requirements of the RFP.  The Request For Proposals is available in a read only and read-write format on the Illinois Procurement Bulletin’s Web site at:

                                                http://www.purchase.state.il.us/

To view the RFP, users must first register by completing the online form under “Registration.”  Once registered, select the “IllinoisBID” option, scroll down to reference number "22015933 School-Based Health Services Program Administrator,” or enter the reference number 22015933.

Department staff is prohibited from informally discussing this project during the procurement process.  However, questions regarding this notice may be submitted in writing to the Bureau of Program and Reimbursement Analysis, Attn: RFP Project Contact, at the address in the letterhead above or via e-mail to bpra@illinois.gov
