​Re: Delay Implementation of Prescribers NPI in the Prescriber ID Field of Pharmacy Claims​

The department previously announced that it would require the prescribers NPI in the prescriber ID field of pharmacy claims effective August 1, 2008.  The department has decided to delay implementation of this requirement. The department will continue to accept claims with other prescriber identifiers, including the prescriber’s DEA number, License Number, or HFS Legacy ID number. Further details will be forthcoming in a provider notice.
