Federal Discrepancy on SSI COLA's​

This is to alert all long term care facilities (nursing facilities, supportive living facilities, intermediate care facilities for the developmentally disabled and skilled pediatric facilities) that due to inaccurate data transmission received from the Social Security Administration, central budgeting for the Social Security cost of living increase has not been completed.

The data transmitted to the Department should not impact the actual Social Security checks received by beneficiaries, or by facilities on a beneficiary’s behalf. 

The Department is doing everything it can to correct the problem before January services are generated on February 15, 2008.

Please do not ask your Department of Human Services caseworker to adjust patient credits as they have been instructed not to manually update patient credit amounts until the problem is resolved centrally.
