Illinois Health Connect Electronic Information Access – MEDI System

To: All Enrolled Providers
Date: December 7, 2007
Re: Illinois Health Connect Electronic Information Access – MEDI System

The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), is requesting that all Illinois Health Connect (IHC) providers enroll with the Medical Electronic Data Interchange (MEDI) System, in order to electronically access their IHC Panel Rosters, Patients Paid Claims History, and register and view referrals via the online IHC Referral System, once implemented.  The MEDI system utilizes federally approved access protocols that allow only approved providers and their authorized staff to access sensitive patient and provider information.  In addition, MEDI will provide up-to-date eligibility information for all HFS clients, including IHC PCP information.

In order to obtain assistance with MEDI enrollment, please refer to the MEDI Training Page at: <http://www.myhfs.illinois.gov/gettingstarted.html>.  For additional assistance with MEDI enrollment, you may contact your IHC Provider Service Field Representative or the IHC Provider Services Help Desk at 1-877-912-1999 or by going online at www.illinoishealthconnect.com and clicking on ‘Provider Education.’

Questions regarding this notice may be directed to the IHC Provider Services Help Desk at 1-877-912-1999.
