The purpose of this notice is to provide clarification to the Informational Notice issued by the department in July 2006. This notice modifies the list of procedure codes contained in the July 2006, notice, as well as reiterates the department’s billing requirements.
The Department of Human Services (DHS) will pay for physician psychiatric services for children and adolescents enrolled in the SASS program who are not enrolled in Medicaid/All Kids for dates of service July 1, 2005, and after. Several procedure codes listed in the July 2006, notice were incorrect. A corrected procedure code listing is listed below.
Physician psychiatric services for DHS funded children and adolescents enrolled in the SASS program must be billed fee-for-service to the Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). The services will be billed on a DPA 2360 Health Insurance Claim form or on an 837P by the physician rendering the service. Community Mental Health providers cannot bill for these services.
The department will grant exceptions to the 12-month filing requirement through December 30, 2007, to allow providers time to submit claims and receive payment for these services. Claims past the 12-month filing requirement submitted on a paper claim form must be sent to the following address.
